Event: Triathlon – swim 1/2 mile, bike ~25 miles, run ~5 miles
The Belgrade Lakes Triathlon (“BLT”) is a modified Olympic Distance race, with a shortened swim and run. The swim start, the transition area, and the finish are all located on the stunning waterfront of Camp Runoia, surrounded by log cabins and lush forests. Less than an hour from Portland, the BLT promises to be a celebrated race with its unique setting and exciting course.
Event highlights:
- Swim in beautiful, clean Great Pond – one of the famous Belgrade Lakes
- Transition in Camp Runoia’s large playing field and pretend you are back at summer camp again
- Ride a challenging but fun bike route that circles the lake and goes through downtown Belgrade Lakes - sweeping vistas and fast descents await you
- Run a mostly flat and fast 5 mile lollipop to complete this great race
- Finish back at Camp Runoia, amongst the tall pine trees
- Enjoy a post-race meal (with BLTs of course!) and relax on the waterfront.
- Directions to the Camp are simple and parking is available at or near the race site
- The logistics for the BLT are extremely easy, making it a perfect race for athletes looking to step up from a sprint.
- A concierge service is available to help you help you with whatever you might need. Just ask!
