Check out the event website (www.urban-epic.com) for all the details) The Swim (1.5K): The Zone Urban/EPIC will start at 7am with a leap into Casco Bay from the shores of Mackworth Island. Athletes will be brought to the starting area by shuttle buses. The swim will be a straight shot to East End Beach, in downtown Portland, completing one of the most spectacular swims in the world. The Mini-Transition Area: After finishing the swim, athletes will have to put on their shoes and run approximately 1/2 mile along a path and sidewalk to T1. The Transition Area will be situated at one of the unique locales imaginable - inside a boat-building warehouse. All gear and bikes will be entirely protected from weather! The Bike (40K): Athletes will get the chance to ride a course unavailable at any other time - from downtown Portland, through the Industrial district, looping around Baxter Boulevard, then heading north up the coast. The 40k bike will be an out-and-back on rolling, country roads. T2 will take place in the same warehouse as T1. The Run (10K): To cap off this memorable event, athletes will run a 10k lollipop along the Eastern Prom and the Back Cove Path. This course is literally on the ocean from start to finish!
