Established in March, 2006, Tri-Maine Productions is the venture of Will Thomas, an experienced triathlete and race director, with years working to promote endurance athletics in Northern New England. Tri-Maine Productions is an experientially-based, entreprenuerial company based out of Portland, ME. It was formed in response to the growing demand for high-quality multisport events in Maine, as well as the clear opportunity to create a formal race series, complete with rankings, prizes, and social events. The Tri-Maine Race Series was developed through the cooperation of many of the other race directors in the state who are jointly committed to the growth of the sport of triathlon, which is mutually beneficial to all involved - event promoters, athletes, communities, and sponsors. In its first year, The Tri-Maine Race Series far exceeded participation expectations. Beyond administrating the overall Race Series, Tri-Maine Productions owns and/or produces a number of other multisport properties. These include the PolarBear Tri/Duathlon, one of the most popular races in the country (selling out all its entries in a matter of hours), the Shipbuilders Triathlon, one of the first tris in New England (established 1982), the WildBear Tri/Duathlon, a sprint race on one of the most spectacular venues available, and the Lobsterman Triathlon, which has been consistently voted as among the top 25 events in the US by endemic publications, and the Urban/EPIC. In all, over 2,000 athletes, 600 volunteers, and 5,000 spectators attend Tri-Maine Productions events each season. Additionally, the organization designs and maintains www.tri-maine.com, which features information about all the TRI-Maine races, as well as rules, training, links, injury prevention. The website draws approximately 18-22,000 hits per month. Beyond producing, marketing, and executing high-quality events, Tri-Maine Productions is committed to other exciting ventures. The company has partnered with a number of charitable organizations with the goal of giving back as much as possible to the communities that support and cultivate the races. These groups include the Jessie Bullens-Crewe Foundation, the Brunswick Parks and Rec Department, the Poland Parks and Rec Department, the Freeport YMCA, the Bowdoin College Common Good Grant Fund, and Main Street Bath. In total, Tri-Maine donated approximately $12,000 to charities in 2006. Tri-Maine was also a sponsor of the outdoor Baystock 2006 Music Feastival in Portland's Old Port, featuring Blues Traveler. The company is involved in the logistical planning of the concert and will have a strong presence at the event. Our Staff Will Thomas (Founder and Executive Director)

Carter brings a strong sense of sales and leadership to Tri-Maine, where he focuses on developing powerful partnerships and identifying exciting new opportunities for growth. He also manages our "lifestyle events", which support the core race properties, including concerts, festivals, clinics, etc. As an undergrad at Bowdoin College, he had a successful four years on the swim team, culminating with being named Captain his senior year and finishing as one of the top swimmers in the NESCAC. Carter majored in sociology and minored in economics while at Bowdoin and spent part of his junior year studying abroad in New Zealand. Entreprenuerial by nature, he has worked for a number of small, start-up companies over the last few years. Besides working with Tri-Maine, Carter spent the winter assistant coaching the Bowdoin Swim Team and conducting research on new hydrodynamic technology. In the summer, you can find him at Higgins Beach, everyday after 5pm.
Nicole Pisani (Director of Events) Nicole joined Tri-Maine in February of 2007 and brings a wide range of talents and skills to the company. Graduating from Keene State University with a degree in Health Sciences, Nicole decided to move away from her Connecticut roots to explore Portland and the multisport lifestyle Tri-Maine strives for. Business experience includes but is not limited to: internet support, human resources, retail management, coaching, and courier. In the winter, Nicole enjoys shredding powder at one of the mammoth Maine ski resorts, while surfing the towering waves during the summer months. To fuel her competetive spirit, Nicole mountain bikes regularly and runs with fellow athletes but still has time to relax by reading and cooking. We are very excited to have Nicole on board and cannot wait to see our events develop under her guidance.
Megan White (Event Manager)
Megan is the newest member of the Tri-Maine team and will be joining us for the 2007 summer season. She brings high energy, creativity, and an outgoing personality with a flair for multi-tasking. Megan graduated this past spring from Boston University with a B.A. in Environmental Earth Sciences and minor concentration in Art History and Architecture while still managing to find time for her athletic achievements. In high school, Megan was a four time conference champion, two time state champion, and All-American. This led to her to a full scholarship at BU where she became an eight time NCAA American East Conference finalist in both 1 meter and 3 meter springboard diving events and a three time NCAA Zone Qualifier. Megan has a devoted passion for the environment, children, and extreme sports including (but by no means limited to): surfing, skiing, yoga, water-skiing, hiking, cliff diving. In her free time she loves painting and photography. Extensive work and volunteer experience ranges from bartender to gymnastics/diving coach, with special attention given to Safe Passage and humanitarian work spent in Guatemala. Megan hopes to devote much of her future towards this organization, as well as one day starting her own large-scale redevelopment project to clean up the Guatemala City Garbage dump district. You can find Megan realigning her Chi at the break of dawn all summer doing yoga and surfing at Higgins beach.
